From tim at saint-uriels.org Sun Jul 6 21:17:11 2008 From: tim at saint-uriels.org (Fr Tim Mansfield) Date: Sun Jul 6 21:17:15 2008 Subject: [st uriel's] Lapse in service Message-ID: <35565cab0807061917n59f28862i7b677a7d730eaa9d@mail.gmail.com> Services have been a little patchy for the last couple of weeks. I've been travelling to and from Brisbane because my mother has suddenly fallen very ill and this makes it very hard for me to predict what city I'll be in. If you are planning to come along on a Sunday, please contact me via email and check if a service is on before making the journey. If you could include my mother, my family and I in your prayers, we'd all appreciate it. In Love and Light, Father Tim -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Next Tuesday is the holy day of Mary of Magdala, companion of the Master Jesus and one of the leading disciples of the early church. Mary is one of the many women honoured in the Johannite community for their compassion, spiritual achievement and leadership. To honour Mary, this Sunday I will be celebrating the AJC's Sophianic Liturgy for my first time. This service is a service of Holy Communion, just as the usual liturgy is, but more of the prayers are addressed to the Feminine nature of the Divine. 6pm, Sun 20 July Unitarian Church 15 Francis St Darlinghurst Please come and join us and stay for tea afterwards. *I am She that is the natural mother of all things, mistress and governess of all the elements, the initial progeny of worlds, chief of the powers divine, Queen of all that are in the otherworld, the principal of them that dwell above, manifested alone and under one form * Father Tim Mansfield Rector -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I'll be offering the service of Holy Eucharist but instead of the usual group discussion, I'd like to suggest that we explore the experience of Devotion through a brief experience of the Prayer of the Heart, one of the oldest prayer practices in our Tradition. I'll give some remarks on how to approach the Prayer and then we'll practice it together. If any of you have your own thoughts or understandings of the Prayer, please bring them along to share. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Prayer http://www.monachos.net/library/The_Jesus_Prayer_-_The_Prayer_of_the_Heart The readings for this week are: http://gnosis.org/ecclesia/lect083.htm Holy Eucharist and Prayer of the Heart venue: The Unitarian Church, 15 Francis St, Darlinghurst time: 7pm, Sun 27 July In Love and Light, Father Tim+ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
